Not Acts Of God

Posted by Ryan Reyes On October - 25 - 2009

clip_image002Just these past few weeks, ruinous storms ravaged the whole Luzon leaving inundated homes and impoverished crops. Most are rescued by inflatable boats from their houses that submerged in the flood. Most are left staying in evacuation centers and also relied on relief goods given by good hearts and so popular these times are the insurance claimers who came rushing to their respective insurance companies. But most of those companies do not cover acts of God. Acts of God? Why do they call it acts of God? Are really typhoons, earthquake and other calamities God-made?

“He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love.” – 1 John 4:8

When we are subjected to a problem that seems to be resolvable, we blame everything to God. When someone or something has lost, we cry to God. “Why? Why? Why are you letting such things?” And the worst of it, most of the religious teachers claim such natural calamities as if God is responsible for it. Is it really what God is?”

Someone may say that such disasters are from God after knowing the story of the Great Flood in Noah’s times. But, God have promised us for a rainbow.

“And I will remember my covenant, which is between me and you and every living creature of all flesh; and the waters shall no more become a flood to destroy all flesh.”
- Genesis 9:15

God does not subject one to torment and despair. He does not bring harm and chaos but rather allow such things to happen. Allow such things to happen? Why should He?

“Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God: for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempted he any man.” – James 1:13

When our first parent Adam and Eve left the Garden of Eden, Satan started to test people’s faith and drive them away from God’s side. As a rebel to God, he wants to prove himself as the ruler and stain God’s image to mankind and there this starts the battle of him and God. Like the story of the faithful Job, Satan subjected him to a series of unfortunate events to test him, but his faith in God still prevailed. Satan tests mortal and God lets him in order to prove Satan wrong, for man has strong faith in God. One who allows is different from the one who causes it.

There are good reasons why God permits such things to happen and you can make sure God is not the one who brings such destructive forces. In fact, he gave us the knowledge to face such things, science itself. He also gives us courage and hope to continue living.

“Holy, holy, holy, is the LORD” – Isaiah 6:3

God is pure and clear. There is nothing evil in Him. We can put ourselves to Him.

What Satan wants for us is to curse God for all the worst things on Earth.
But to believe and to give faith for always is what God wants us to do.

Acts of God…

Why can’t we blame ourselves, the human race, for what have just happened. Who cut the trees that hold the soil of the mountainside? Who defiled the land and crowded the riverbanks? Who ruined the hills and mountains for gold and minerals? Who polluted the Earth and abused it?

Why can’t we blame Satan who is right now, laughing out loud in every person blaming God for all of these?

“We know that we are of God, and that the whole world lies in the power of the evil one.” – 1 John 5:19.

It must be acts of Satan.
