Phillies hot up the World Series race

The spirit goes on! That’s the Philadelphia Phillies’ war cry after winning 8-6 against the New York Yankees catching up 3-2 in the World Series.
The Phillies led 6-1 early on, made it 8-2 after seven innings, and survived a late Yankees rally in the eighth with the Chase Utley’s two home runs and Cliff Lee’s extreme pitching.
Wednesday’s Game Six in New York will decide one thing: the Yankees’ one more win to clinch their 27th or a Philadelphia triumph to force a deciding seventh game on Thursday.
Second-time Fall Classic winner Southpaw Lee brought just two runs in the first seven innings before the Yankees blow in three more runs in the eighth.
Second baseman Utley now has a record-equalling five homers in this World Series, matching Yankees legend Reggie Jackson’s total from 1977.
Utley said: “At some point, not right now, maybe I’ll look back on it and see what kind of special moment it is. But right now, our goal is to win two more games.
“Chase, when he gets hot, definitely he can get hot and stay hot for a month or two,” said Phillies manager Charlie Manuel as he hopes of a fighting Utley for the finals. “Knock on wood.”
Joe Girardi, Yankees manager said he was not shocked by Utley heroic moments.
“He’s a very dangerous hitter, and he puts up great numbers every year,” he said.
