Prayers: Gateway to God
In times where life become hectic due to a lot of duties and responsibilities in school, work or in your peers and family, it seems like we forget the One who we should prioritize – God.
“Pray without ceasing” – 1 Thessalonians 5:17
“… Rejoicing in hope, patient in tribulation, continuing steadfastly in prayer…” – Romans 12:12
“Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God.” – Philippians 4:6
We know that prayers are the most wonderful means of communication for we talk to God through it. But when it seems like the busy bee stung you and the going gets rough, we may feel it hard to find time to pray.
Praying is like a door that we can open anytime for we have the key to open it.
“See then that you walk circumspectly, not as fools but as wise, redeeming the time, because the days are evil.” – Ephesians 5:15, 16
With tons of loaded work, we forget to pay a while and ample time to pray. A good suggestion is to make a schedule or to allot time for praying but we must not take it just as a routine.
“For out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks.” – Matthew 12:34
If we cannot think clear of what we should pray, try to pray things you really want to ask. Prayer is a way to unleash all emotions and let loose everything to God.
“I will also meditate on all Your work, and talk of Your deeds.”- Psalms 77:12
One may say, why bother praying if God does not pay attention to it? A very wrong notion! 1 John 5:14 says, “Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us.”
“O You who hear prayer, to You all flesh will come.” – (Psalms 65:2)
One thing is clear: God really entertains our prayers. You may think that God does not get rid of your problems but come to think of it, He already provided you strength to face it and to overcome all of it.
“I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” – Philippians 4:13
“Casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you.” – 1 Peter 5:7
God did not appoint angels to hear our solemn wishes. God Himself listens to our prayers because He truly cares and loves us.
