Sesame Street turns 40!
The longest-running program in the history of children’s television Sesame Street turns 40 with a brand new season coming to you tomorrow, November 10.
According to Executive Producer Carol-Lynn Parente, the viewers will be surprised to see a brand-new and spectacularly beautiful opening sequence. She also said that they are launching an entirely new format which they call the ‘block’ format.
The block format is said to be an hour devoted to preschool programming which emulates children’s current television experience.
Sesame Street won over 120 Emmy Awards and it has been shown in more that 125 countries.
A exhibition of photographs entitled “Sesame Street: The Longest Street in the World” will be also be unveiled at Washington, D.C’s Union Station on November 10.
